Clinton Raymond Peppo, Sr., 85, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010, at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Houston, Texas after a lengthy illness. Clinton was born in Gulf Port, Mississippi on June 28, 1925, to Octave Joseph Peppo and Beatrice Mildred Frankovich.  Clinton was in the United States Coast Guard during World War II as a Gunner’s Mate 1st Class aboard the LST 71. He was awarded the Silver Star during his tour of duty in the Pacific Theater.
 
A long time resident of Beaumont, Clinton was a respected member of the Sheet Metal Worker’s Local #196. He also owned his own sheet metal shop, Raymonnaire, from which he eventually retired.
 
His hobby and passion was fabricating stainless steel barbeque pits, many of which are still in use today. He was also an avid coin collector and former member of the Beaumont Coin Club. He and his wife loved to take trips in their motor home, especially to the beach.
 
Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Lorena Wayne Young Peppo of Beaumont; daughter, Patricia Fern Peppo Harrington of Houston; sons, Clinton Raymond Peppo, Jr. and his wife Diane of Pasadena and Scott Dwayn Peppo and his wife Jami of Beaumont; grandson, Clinton Thomas Peppo of Pasadena; granddaughter, Patricia Danielle Peppo of Beaumont; grandson, Clinton Thomas Peppo of Pasadena; and great-granddaughter, Taylor Leighann Weatherford of Beaumont.
 
Clinton is preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Raymond Peppo.
 
Clinton’s siblings include his brothers, Joe, Malcolm, John, Anthony and Bert; sisters, Beatrice, Fern, Doty, Hazel, Hyacinth, Rita and Irene.
 
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2010, with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, at Trout Creek Cemetery in Call, Texas under the direction of Broussard’s.
